Hello everyone! This month we are preparing for an outdoor cleaning project and adding a storage cabinet in our garage with supplies and products from HDX which are exclusively sold at The Home Depot.

HDX is The Home Depot’s value brand inclusive of paper, chemicals, air filters, storage, and paint accessories, and HDX delivers national brand equivalent quality and value.

Cleaning: Garage Door

The cleanliness of our garage door is the one area of our home that I honestly NEVER think about. That being said, it is the one section of our house that always faces the street so we figured it was time to clean all of this mold and mildew.

We picked up some supplies from our local Home Depot for the cleaning project and some Reusable Latex Gloves and Chemical Splash Safety Goggles for staying safe.

I picked up this Handheld Multi-Purpose Pump Sprayer and mixed up a cleaning solution to help tackle some of the stubborn stains. I already have a larger 2 Gallon Multi-Purpose Lawn and Garden Pump Sprayer, but I really liked this compact and easy-to-use handheld sprayer.

If you are worried about using chemicals on your mold and mildew stains, you can always use soap and water and a good scrub brush to tackle them! HDX has a great long handled 20” Gong Scrub Brush for the hard-to-reach areas and spot cleaning. They also have a convenient small Scrub Brush with Iron Handle for corners and the dirt build up near the base of the garage door.

For the actual metal door, I wanted to use something a bit softer that the scrub brushes to gently wash away dirt and stains. We picked up a pack of the HDX Multi-Purpose Sponges and we were pleased with the quality and how absorbent they were in both washing and drying.

After everything was dry and the garage door was brought back to its original shine, we added these simple Magnetic Garage Door Hardware pieces to update the look. Because they are magnets, there are no holes to drill and the pieces simply snap on.

HDX Garage Storage

The same day we were at The Home Depot, we picked up two of the HDX Plastic Freestanding Garage Base Cabinets to help us store all of our cleaning supplies.

The assembly process for the units was very easy as most pieces simply snapped together. Attaching the handle was the only part that required a screwdriver. The shelves are adjustable and each shelf can hold 44 pounds.

We liked that these units are stackable and together they are a simple and effective way to get organized and store all of our cleaning supplies in the garage.

If you are a homeowner with limited time and space, I hope this encourages you to see how easy it can be to freshen up an outdoor area and create a designated place to store all your supplies. We are thrilled that everything came together so quickly and happy with the various HDX products we used. We are also excited that so much changed with just a few hours devoted to an outdoor cleaning project and indoor garage organization!

Thanks so much for visiting the blog today!
